Welcome to Domaine de Capiès, a family-friendly place to escape to in the south of France, thirty minutes from Carcassonne and fifteen minutes from Limoux. Our beautiful old stone farmhouse and barns are a collection of cottages, simply styled, with breathtaking, south-facing views over vineyards and hills.
Perfect for a family holiday in Occitanie, Domaine de Capiès combines space, nature, and simple comforts. A twenty metre pool stretches to the horizon. There is a peaceful woodland area with hammocks, a big trampoline in the play-area, chickens, a vegetable garden and stunning walks from the doorstep.
We are passionate about local food and wine, offering a unique countryside experience. Join us for relaxed Friday evening suppers or enjoy wood-fired sourdough pizza and wine on Sundays at Capiès Barn.
Surrounded by nature, wildlife, and complete tranquillity, our countryside gîte near Limoux is ideal for those seeking a slower pace of life. While you’ll feel wonderfully remote, Limoux, mirepoix and their markets, vineyards, and cafés are just a short drive away. Our cottages are open all year, subject to availability.
Our countryside gîtes near Carcassonne are simple in design, blending the character of the original farmhouse with whitewashed walls and thoughtfully sourced furniture from local brocantes and artisans. Each cottage is fully equipped for a comfortable self-catering stay in the South of France, with a kitchen, private terrace and BBQ, king-sized beds with 100% cotton linen, towels, and organic soaps. Selected cottages offer WiFi (available in the Barn, Etoile, Marin and Jasmin), although connection speeds reflect our rural setting—perfect for switching off and embracing a slower pace of life.
Food is at the heart of the experience at Domaine de Capiès. Our family-friendly gîtes in Occitanie offer relaxed, communal dining with seasonal Friday evening suppers,, and wood-fired sourdough pizza and wine on Sundays at Capiès Barn, open to both guests and locals.
Enjoy a selection of local wines, craft beers from BDQ Beer Co., and soft drinks from our on-site bar. For guests staying with us, there is also a pool table in the cave, and a large table by the swimming pool with white concrete sofas—an ideal spot for early evening drinks overlooking the countryside.

Mieux vaut arriver de jour : la route qui mène au domaine de Capiès serpente entre vignes et prairies, offrant des paysages d’une grande beauté. C’est dans ce décor typique du Pays cathare qu’un couple d’Anglais a choisi de s’installer. Les deux gîtes affichent une décoration résolument champêtre, et leurs terrasses ouvertes sur la vallée invitent naturellement à la contemplation. Ici, les enfants sont particulièrement choyés, avec une aire de jeux, un trampoline et une belle piscine de 20 mètres. Le week-end, Tilly et Will passent derrière les fourneaux : menu méditerranéen le vendredi soir, puis soirée pizza le samedi, le service est assuré par leurs deux fils.
